Teacher booked for beating minor school boy in
In Rajouri, a Government school teacher has been charged by the police for assaulting a Class 3 student, resulting in damage to the child’s ear. The incident occurred at Govt Middle School Sada in the Kotranka Educational Zone.
According to official sources, the altercation transpired when the In-charge Headmaster was occupied with administrative duties, and amidst the commotion caused by other students, the 8-year-old boy returned from the restroom. Enraged by the noise, the Headmaster allegedly subjected the child to severe physical punishment, including a forceful slap to the ear.
The consequence was a bleeding ear with a deep wound. Recognizing the gravity of the situation, the teacher rushed the boy to a nearby medical store where initial aid was administered, and a bandage was applied.
However, rather than informing the parents of the incident, the teacher sent the child home. As the bleeding persisted, the parents eventually discovered the truth from their son and other students. In response, the father, Mohd Shabir, lodged an FIR (First Information Report) against the In-charge Headmaster at Kotranka Police Station, leading to the initiation of legal proceedings.
The severity of the situation prompted medical intervention, with the child receiving treatment at Kotranka Hospital before being referred to GMC Rajouri due to the extent of the ear injury. Meanwhile,
police efforts to apprehend the accused proved unsuccessful, as the teacher evaded arrest upon their arrival at his residence. The incident underscores the importance of safeguarding students’ well-being and the need for accountability within educational institutions.
It highlights the crucial role of effective communication between school authorities and parents in promptly addressing incidents of misconduct or violence. Ultimately, the pursuit of justice in cases of child abuse or neglect is paramount to ensuring a safe and nurturing learning environment for all students.
