Srinagar Police Registers FIR Against Facebook Page Admin Mudasir Aziz
Srinagar Police have taken action against a Facebook page admin, Mudasir Bashir Bhat, also known as Mudasir Aziz, by registering a formal First Information Report (FIR).
The FIR, accessed by Kashmir Dot Com, reveals that Mudasir Bashir Bhat, a resident of Khayam, Srinagar, has been charged under sections 341, 354, 499, and 506 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). These sections pertain to wrongful restraint, sexual assault, defamation, and criminal intimidation, respectively.
The complaint leading to the FIR was filed by a woman, whose identity has been withheld, associated with the NGO ‘Smile Foundation’.
The complaint prompted the action by Police station Rainawari. Mudasir Bashir Bhat is accused of managing several Facebook pages, including ‘Kashmir Youth Power’, ‘News Express’, ‘Mission Kashmir’, and ‘Mudasir Aziz’, while allegedly posing as a journalist.
