Six suspected OGWs arrested in South Kashmir’s Qazigund
Arms and ammunition recovered, probe underway
SRINAGAR, Aug 28 (NVI): At least, six individuals suspected of being Over Ground Workers (OGWs) were apprehended on Wednesday in South Kashmir’s Qazigund area here.
A senior police officer told News Vibes of India—(NVI) that the arrests were made during a coordinated operation by joint security forces, including the CRPF, police, and Army.
He added that the suspects were detained at a checkpoint in Qazigund following specific intelligence inputs; however, their identities have not been released by the authorities.
Moreover, security forces recovered a significant amount of arms and ammunition from the suspects, including one pistol, two pistol magazines, 28 pistol rounds, three hand grenades, and 35 AK-47 rounds.
An FIR has also been filed at the Qazigund Police Station under relevant sections, and more details are awaited.—(NVI)
