School Education Department Demotes Teachers Over Fake Degrees

School Education Department Takes Action Against Fraudulent Degrees:In a significant development, the School Education Department of Jammu and Kashmir has taken decisive action against fraudulent academic credentials. Two teachers, Anita Sharma and Raman Chanyal, have been demoted after it was discovered that they obtained promotions using fake postgraduate degrees.

Investigation Reveals Misrepresentation:An investigation uncovered that both Anita Sharma and Raman Chanyal had allegedly secured postgraduate degrees in Chemistry from Magadh University in 2003. However, the university did not offer such a course during that period, raising suspicions regarding the legitimacy of their qualifications.

Reversion to Teaching Roles:As a consequence of the investigation’s findings, Anita Sharma, serving as the Principal of Higher Secondary School in Sarna, Samba, and Raman Chanyal, Principal of Higher Secondary School in Machhedi, Kathua, have been directed to return to teaching positions.

Career Progression Based on Falsified Credentials:Anita Sharma’s career trajectory included a promotion to the role of in-charge lecturer in 2004, followed by a posting at Government Higher Secondary School in Mansar. However, her failure to produce original qualification documents led to the suspension of her allowances between 2004 and 2006.

Disciplinary Action by the Education Department:In response to the fraudulent representation of academic qualifications, the School Education Department issued an order on March 5th instructing the Chief Education Officers of Samba and Kathua districts to reassign Sharma and Chanyal to teaching roles. Both individuals have been directed to report to the office of the Chief Education Officer in their respective districts.

This action underscores the department’s commitment to upholding the integrity of academic qualifications and ensuring transparency in the educational system.
