Rs 59364 crore interim budget for J&K presented in Parliament

UT’s total budget estimates for 2024-25 expected to be Rs 1.18 lakh crore

Srinagar, Feb 05 (WD):

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman unveiled an interim budget of Rs 59,364 crore for the Jammu & Kashmir Union Territory. The budget estimates for the upcoming fiscal year are anticipated to reach Rs 1,18,728 crore.

The proposed “Vote on Account” for 2024-25 includes Rs 48,930 crore as revenue receipts and Rs 10,434 crore as capital receipts. The total gross receipts are estimated at Rs 75,932 crore, with Parliament’s approval sought for this amount, including the provision for ways and means advances of Rs 16,568 crore.

The full budget will be presented after the 2024 general elections. The total budget estimates for 2024-25, excluding ways and means advances, stand at Rs 1,18,728 crore. The breakdown includes revenue expenditure at Rs 80,162 crore and capital expenditure at Rs 38,566 crore.
