Rice-pulling machine scam’: 12 persons arrested with fake currency in Ganderbal

Five vehicle seized, FIR registered, investigation set into motion: Police

Ganderbal, Feb 08 (WD):

Ganderbal Police apprehended 12 individuals involved in the ‘Rice-pulling machine scam’ and confiscated counterfeit currency along with five vehicles in the Kangan area.

Acting on information received, a police team raided the site near Dumping Park, where suspicious activity was reported.

The individuals were found in possession of 30 bundles of fake currency totaling Rs 1,500,000 and Rs 56,600 in genuine currency.

Preliminary investigations suggest their involvement in ‘Rice puller’ transactions.

“As per the preliminary enquiry they were doing some dealing of ‘Rice puller’ (Trathgola). Five vehicles were also seized,” he said.

A FIR has been registered, and further investigations are underway.
