Reasi Attack: LG Announces Rs 10 Lakh Ex-gratia to NOKs of Slain, Rs 50k to Injured

Srinagar, Jun 10 (WD): A day after the devastating Reasi attack, which resulted in the deaths of nine individuals, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha announced significant financial assistance for the victims’ families. On Monday, Sinha declared an ex-gratia of Rs 10 lakh to be provided to the Next of Kin (NOK) of each martyr pilgrim.

In addition to the compensation for the deceased, the Lieutenant Governor announced that the injured persons would receive Rs 50,000 each. This aid aims to help cover medical expenses and other immediate needs resulting from their injuries.

According to Wattan Daily, Sinha emphasized that a joint operation is currently underway to apprehend and neutralize the perpetrators responsible for the heinous attack in Reasi. Security forces are actively involved in this mission.

Sinha stated, “An ex-gratia of Rs. 10 lakh will be given to the next of kin of pilgrims martyred in the Reasi terror attack. The injured would be given Rs. 50,000.” This declaration was made to ensure that the affected families receive prompt and adequate support during this difficult time.

The injured pilgrims are being treated at various hospitals in Jammu and Reasi. Authorities are ensuring that the best possible medical care is provided to facilitate their recovery.

To coordinate the relief efforts, a control room has been established by the district administration. This center is dedicated to providing all necessary assistance and information to the families and individuals affected by the attack.

Additionally, a joint security force temporary headquarters has been set up at the site of the attack. This headquarters, managed by J&K Police, the Army, and CRPF, is overseeing the ongoing operation to neutralize the attackers and secure the area.

The Lieutenant Governor’s office shared these updates on X, formerly known as Twitter, through the Kashmir News Observer. This rapid response by the government underscores their commitment to supporting the victims and ensuring justice is served in the wake of the Reasi terror attack.
