PM Modi takes selfie with kashmiri youth calls him friend

Prime Minister Narendra Modi made a notable appearance in Kashmir, engaging with attendees at a rally during his visit to the region on March 7th. Among the participants was Nazim, a beneficiary of the Viksit Bharat program, who seized the opportunity to interact with the PM and request a selfie.

Accommodating the request, PM Modi captured a moment with Nazim, whom he commended for his commendable efforts. In a social media post, PM Modi expressed his admiration for Nazim’s work and conveyed his best wishes for his future endeavors.

During his visit, PM Modi reaffirmed his government’s commitment to winning the hearts of people in the Valley. Emphasizing his dedication, he stated that his sole mission since 2014 has been to gain the trust and support of the people. Addressing a public gathering in Srinagar’s Bakshi Stadium, PM Modi inaugurated several projects aimed at bolstering agriculture and tourism under the “Viksit Bharat Viksit Jammu Kashmir” program.

However, PM Modi’s administration has faced criticism from regional and opposition parties following the abrogation of Article 370 on August 5, 2019. This move resulted in the bifurcation of the erstwhile state into the Union territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh.

Despite the controversy surrounding these decisions, PM Modi’s recent engagement in Kashmir is viewed as part of his campaign strategy ahead of the forthcoming general elections, expected to be held in April and May. Notably, this will be the first election since the region lost its autonomy, with the last legislative assembly election held in 2014.
