PM Modi In UAE To Inaugurate First Hindu Temple In Arab World

Abu Dhabi – Prime Minister Narendra Modi engaged in extensive discussions with UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, encompassing a review of the strategic partnership, exploration of new avenues for collaboration, and witnessing the signing of multiple agreements, including a bilateral investment treaty.

In a significant display of warmth and respect, President Mohamed bin Zayed personally greeted Modi at the airport, culminating in a warm embrace between the two leaders, followed by a ceremonial guard of honor.

Expressing gratitude for the warm reception, Modi shared his appreciation on social media, highlighting the personal touch extended by President Mohamed bin Zayed. The leaders proceeded to engage in one-on-one as well as delegation-level talks, focusing on bolstering bilateral ties and identifying fresh areas for mutual cooperation.

Their discussions underscored the deepening of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, spanning various sectors such as trade, investment, digital infrastructure, fintech, energy, and cultural exchanges, alongside deliberations on regional and global issues of common interest.

In his opening remarks, Prime Minister Modi expressed a sense of belonging and familiarity, emphasizing the frequency of their meetings and the broadening scope of the India-UAE partnership across diverse domains.

The signing ceremony witnessed the exchange of eight agreements, including a Bilateral Investment Treaty and collaboration pacts in areas such as electrical interconnection, trade, and the India-Middle East Economic Corridor, aimed at facilitating greater investment flows and fostering economic integration between the two nations.

Modi commended the UAE’s launch of the JAYWAN domestic card, built upon India’s RuPay platform, underscoring the significance of such initiatives in enhancing financial connectivity and promoting digital innovation.

The leaders also deliberated on strengthening cooperation in the energy sector, acknowledging the UAE’s role as a crucial supplier of crude oil and LPG to India, while exploring opportunities for long-term partnerships in LNG contracts.

Addressing the Indian diaspora, Modi hailed the historic bonds of friendship between India and the UAE, underscoring their collective contributions to the flourishing partnership.

The forthcoming inauguration of the BAPS Temple in Abu Dhabi was lauded as a testament to the deep-rooted cultural affinity and the UAE’s commitment to fostering harmony and tolerance.
