Over 60 People Of Same Village Affected by Diarrhea Outbreak in South Kashmir

Over 60 people in Srigufwara, Anantnag, have been affected by a diarrhoea epidemic. The health department is working to tackle the situation and all affected individuals have been admitted to the hospital.

The outbreak occurred in the Tral village of Srigufwara, where more than 60 people experienced diarrhoea, loose motion, and vomiting. This has caused panic in the village and surrounding areas.

Medical teams quickly responded to the situation, arriving on the scene with ambulances. Several patients have been referred to SDH Sallar and PHC Srigufwara for treatment.

The cause of the outbreak is currently unknown but may be related to unsafe or impure drinking water. Tests will be conducted today to determine the source of the issue.

Block Medical Officer (BMO) Dr. Zahoor Ahmad confirmed that teams were dispatched to the area immediately and all affected individuals have been admitted to health facilities. Over 60 people have been admitted so far.

Dr. Ahmad stated that the reason behind the outbreak will be determined through tests conducted today. In the meantime, awareness programs will be conducted in the village to prevent further cases.

The health department is working to ensure the situation is under control, and there is no need to panic. All necessary measures are being taken to treat those affected and prevent the outbreak from spreading.
