Nothing adverse found in Watermelon Test Reports: DC Food Safety, Shagufta Jalal

Deputy Commissioner of the Food and Safety Department, Shagufa Jalal, addressed the concerns during a press conference on Saturday.

Jalal stated that samples were collected from all districts of the Kashmir valley following apprehensions about the safety of watermelons.

Test results received today have indicated that there are no adverse findings, affirming the safety of watermelons for consumption.

Emphasizing the importance of disregarding rumors, Jalal urged the public not to be swayed by misinformation.

Additionally, she highlighted that watermelon is not solely a seasonal fruit, further supporting its continued consumption.

Regarding action against those responsible for spreading rumors, Jalal mentioned that the matter has been brought to the attention of higher authorities.
