Summer Vacation Extension for Primary Students
The School Education Department has decided to extend the summer vacation for primary students (Class 1st to 5th) by 7 days, considering the heatwave forecast.
The summer vacation was scheduled to end today, and schools were set to reopen tomorrow in the Kashmir Valley.
However, with another heatwave expected to hit the region from today until July 22nd, the government has taken the decision to extend the summer vacation.
Temperatures are expected to remain above normal by a few degrees, making it unfavorable for primary students to attend classes.
The extension will provide relief to students and parents, ensuring their safety and well-being during the hot weather.
The decision has been made in view of the weather forecast, which predicts the heatwave to persist till July 23rd.
The extension will apply to both government and private schools in the Kashmir Valley.
The School Education Department will continue to monitor the weather situation and take necessary decisions to ensure the comfort and safety of students.
