Meet Sana Fayaz from Kashmir secures 12 rank in Indian Forest Service

Sana Fayaz, hailing from Peer Bagh in Srinagar, Kashmir, has achieved a remarkable feat by securing the 12th All India Rank (AIR) in the Indian Forest Service examination conducted by the UPSC. Among 147 successful candidates, her achievement shines as a testament to her dedication and hard work.

Her educational journey, rooted in excellence, began at Presentation Convent Higher Secondary School, followed by a Bachelor of Technology degree from the prestigious National Institute of Technology (NIT) in Srinagar. However, it was her passion for environmental conservation that propelled her towards a postgraduate degree in Climate Change Studies, enhancing her knowledge and commitment to the cause.

Despite facing initial setbacks in her Civil Services journey, Sana remained undeterred, attempting both the Jammu and Kashmir Administrative Service (JKAS) and UPSC examinations in 2017. Though success didn’t come immediately, she persevered with resilience and determination, refusing to let obstacles hinder her path.

In 2021, Sana’s unwavering resolve bore fruit as she made a triumphant return, appearing for the JKAS for the second time and the UPSC for the fourth time. Her hard work paid off, as she emerged victorious in both endeavors, marking a significant milestone in her career trajectory.
