Man killed, two injured as shooting stone hits car on Mughal Road

Poonch, Aug 30 (NVI): A man was killed, and two others were injured when the vehicle they were traveling in was struck by a shooting stone on the Mughal Road in Poonch district, officials said.

An official told NVI that a Maruti car, bearing registration number JK11A 4674, was hit by a shooting stone on the Mughal Road in Poonch district.

He added that the car was on its way from Kashmir to Bufliaz via the Mughal Road when the incident occurred at Chatta Pani in the Surankote area of Poonch district.

He said it was carrying three passengers, all residents of Gambir Mughlan village in Rajouri district, who were later identified as Mohd Afzal, son of Shah Mohd; Shahzad Ahmad, son of Saif Ullah; and Lal Hussain, son of Shab Din.

The official further added that all three passengers were seriously injured in the incident, while one of them, identified as Shahzad Ahmad, succumbed shortly after the accident.

Meanwhile, police have initiated an investigation.(NVI)
