A man named Mohd Aslam, alias Qari, has been booked under the Public Safety Act (PSA) in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir.
Aslam, a resident of village Khoriwali-Darhal, was detained on the orders of the district magistrate and lodged in the district jail.
The police spokesman revealed that Aslam was earlier named in a criminal case registered at Thanamandi police station in 2012.
The case was registered under various sections of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act and CrPC.
Despite being booked and put out of circulation for his unlawful activities, Aslam continued to pose a threat to peace and order.
The police stated that Aslam was still involved in unlawful acts and refused to mend his ways.
A detailed dossier was prepared by the district police office in Rajouri and submitted to the district magistrate.
The magistrate subsequently issued an order for Aslam’s detention under the PSA, citing the need to prevent him from further disrupting peace and order in the region.
