Major Drug Bust in Srinagar, Heroin Found In Car, One Arrested

In a significant operation in Srinagar, Kashmir, police apprehended a suspect following the discovery of heroin concealed within a private vehicle. Acting on intelligence inputs, a police team under the supervision of SDPO Maharaj Gunj intercepted a Santro car bearing registration number JK03-0662 in the Zaldagar area of Downtown Srinagar.

Upon conducting a thorough search of the vehicle, law enforcement officials uncovered approximately one kilogram of heroin concealed within it. Subsequently, the vehicle was impounded, and the driver was taken into custody.

The individual arrested in connection with the incident has been identified as Shafiq Khoja, aged 48, and is the son of Fathe Joo. He resides in Dildar Karnah, adding a local dimension to the case.

Following the seizure of the illicit substance and the arrest of the suspect, authorities initiated formal legal proceedings. A First Information Report (FIR) was filed under section 8/21 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act at the MR Gunj police station.

The swift and decisive action taken by law enforcement underscores their commitment to combating the illicit drug trade in the region.
