Kupwara Jail Blast: Injured Inmate from Sopore Succumbs
Srinagar, June 24 (WD): An inmate from Sopore, who was injured during a gas cylinder blast in Kupwara sub-jail, has succumbed to his injuries. The tragic incident has left the community in shock and mourning as details continue to emerge about the explosion.
A top official told the Srinagar-based news agency Wattan Daily that the explosion occurred on June 19, resulting in injuries to at least nine inmates. Shahnawaz Ahmad Shah was involved in a case registered under FIR NO 04/2024 at Police Station Tarzoo, related to sections 8, 21, 22, and 29 of the NDPS Act. His death has brought a somber reminder of the harsh realities and dangers present within the prison system.
