KPDCL Issues New Power Schedule For Ramadan
The Power Development Department is considering revising the power curtailment schedule for the upcoming holy month of Ramadan, with a focus on improving and reducing interruptions, particularly during Sehri and Iftar times.
Chief Engineer Sandeep Seth of KPDCL (Distribution) revealed plans to address power curtailment issues during Ramadan, stating that efforts are underway to implement a new schedule from the beginning of the month.
Acknowledging the significance of pre-dawn and dusk hours during Ramadan, Seth emphasized the intention to enhance power supply stability during Sahoor and Iftar.
The holy month is expected to commence from Tuesday, prompting officials to prioritize addressing power shortages amidst concerns over frequent outages and distress cuts in the Kashmir valley.
KPDCL had earlier disclosed a deficit of nearly 400 Megawatts, leading to insufficient electricity supply. As a result, some areas in Kashmir may experience distress cuts and unscheduled outages due to the shortage. Plans are being devised to mitigate these challenges and ensure a smoother power supply experience during Ramadan.
