JKLSA Announces 19 Vacancies Across 16 Districts, Apply Now

Jammu and Kashmir Legal Services Authority (JKLSA) invites applications from eligible lawyers for the posts of Chief LADC and Deputy LADC under the Legal Aid Defense Counsel System (LADCS) across multiple districts with monthly honorariums up to ₹85,000. Applicants must submit forms to respective DLSA offices.

Jammu and Kashmir Legal Services Authority (JKLSA) has released an official notification inviting applications from eligible lawyers for the posts of Chief Legal Aid Defense Counsel (LADC) and Deputy LADC under the Legal Aid Defense Counsel System (LADCS). These positions aim to strengthen access to legal services for underprivileged communities across all districts of Jammu and Kashmir.

As per the official notification, a total of 19 posts have been announced. The engagement will be on a full-time, contractual basis with a fixed monthly honorarium. The selected candidates will be appointed initially for one year, extendable by another year based on performance, fund availability, and instructions from NALSA.

Interested candidates must submit their completed application forms along with required documents to the office of the respective District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) by 10 June 2025 before 4:00 PM. Applications submitted after the deadline will not be entertained.

Eligibility Criteria:

Educational Qualifications: Candidates must be practicing advocates. For Chief LADC, experience in legal aid work and criminal law will be preferred. A certificate of actual practice issued and attested by the District and Sessions Judge is mandatory for verifying the candidate’s eligibility.

Other Requirements: Engagement is limited to candidates not disqualified from previous contracts. The full eligibility criteria and scheme of engagement can be downloaded from the JKLSA website or obtained from the DLSA office notice boards.

How to Apply:
Applicants who meet the eligibility criteria are encouraged to submit their filled application form along with self-attested documents personally at the office of the Secretary, District Legal Services Authority of their respective district.

Selection Process:
The selection of candidates will be done by a District Level Selection Committee. One member will be nominated by the Hon’ble Executive Chairman, JKLSA. Selection will be based on interaction/interview, and dates will be notified separately.
