JKDMA Issues Avalanche Warning For 4 Districts

The Jammu and Kashmir Disaster Management Authority (JKDMA) has issued a medium-danger level avalanche warning for four districts in the Kashmir division.

According to the advisory released by GNS, the avalanche with a medium-danger level is expected to occur above 3000 meters in Kupwara, Bandipora, Baramulla, and Ganderbal districts within the next 24 hours.

Residents of the specified areas are urged to take necessary precautions and refrain from venturing into avalanche-prone areas until further notice.

The warning underscores the potential risks posed by avalanches, particularly in mountainous regions with unstable snow conditions. Authorities are emphasizing the importance of vigilance and adherence to safety measures during this period.

The JKDMA has also provided a contact point for assistance, urging individuals to reach out in case of any emergencies or for further guidance. The issuance of such warnings highlights the proactive measures undertaken by authorities to mitigate risks associated with natural disasters and ensure the safety of residents in vulnerable areas. It serves as a reminder for communities to remain vigilant and prepared in the face of potential hazards posed by adverse weather conditions.
