Traffic Plan & Advisory on Jammu-Srinagar National highway

From 10-03-2024, 1700 hrs. to 11-03-2024, 1700 hrs., the Jammu-Srinagar NHW experienced a 45-minute blockage due to repair work at Dalwas. Additionally, slow movement was observed on NH-44 due to the breakdown of 03 HMVs, resulting in single lane traffic and poor road surface conditions at Dalwas.
Passengers and LMV operators are advised to prefer daytime travel on the Jammu-Srinagar NHW, avoiding night journeys due to the risk of shooting stones between Ramban and Banihal. HMV operators/owners are urged to avoid overloading, ensure sufficient fuel, and double-check vehicle fitness before traveling on the Jammu-Srinagar NHW. Only HMVs with 06 and 10 tires will be permitted to ply through Dhar road.
Traffic Plan & Advisory for 12-03-2024:
Due to the severe poor surface conditions at Dalwas, only one-way traffic will be permitted on the Jammu-Srinagar NHW until the road surface is deemed safe for traffic. LMVs will be allowed from Jammu towards Srinagar, specifically from Nagrota (Jammu) between 0600 hrs to 1100 hrs, while HMVs will be managed in a regulated manner.
People are advised to exercise caution while traveling, staying alert for shooting stones and landslides, and to avoid unnecessary travel. No vehicles will be allowed after the specified cutoff timing.
Road Conditions:SSG Road: Srinagar-Sonamarg-Gumari Road remains blocked due to snow accumulation.
Mughal Road: The Mughal road is still impassable due to snow buildup.
Bhaderwah-Chamba Road: Blocked due to snow accumulation.
Kishtwar-Sinthan-Anantnag NH-244: Road remains blocked due to snow accumulation.
