Highway Alert: Srinagar-Jammu Highway to Halt for 6 Hours on Two Consecutive Days

In a bid to facilitate essential construction work, the Srinagar-Jammu National Highway is scheduled to undergo a six-hour closure on two consecutive days. As per an official order obtained by Wattan Daily, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), Project Implementation Unit (PIU) Ramban, has received approval for a traffic halt from 0000 hours to 0600 hours on January 16th to 17th, 2024, and January 17th to 18th, 2024.

This measure is crucial for the launching of girders at MNB 19 and the installation of ventilation/jet fans in Tunnel T5, ensuring the safety of the general populace, travelers, and drivers. The directive emphasizes strict adherence to the outlined conditions from the Project Director NHAI, PIU Ramban, and the implementation of these orders falls under the jurisdiction of the Senior Superintendent of Police, Ramban, and Senior Superintendent of Police, NHWs, Ramban, as detailed in the official communication.
