Govt assigns charges of posts of CMO, MS, BMO to several senior doctors

According to reports from wattandaily.com, the Health and Medical Education (H&ME) department has recently reassigned the responsibilities of several senior doctors to various posts, including Chief Medical Officers (CMOs), Block Medical Officers (BMOs), and Medical Superintendents (MS).

In an order obtained by Wattan Daily, Dr. Tahir Sajad, who was previously in charge of BMO Magam, has been appointed as the CMO for Srinagar. Similarly, Dr. Tehmeena Banday, the Deputy CMO for Pulwama, has been designated as the CMO for Pulwama.

Dr. Abdul Hamid Zargar, currently serving as the CMO for Doda, will now oversee the duties of Medical Superintendent at Gandhi Nagar Jammu. Meanwhile, Dr. Zulafkar Ahmad, the Medical Superintendent of District Hospital Pooch, will assume the role of CMO for Poonch starting February 29th.

Dr. Vikramjeet Singh Tulla, the In-charge Superintendent at Medical Kashmir Nursing Home in Gupkar, will now take on the responsibilities of Controller of Stores (Health) at Barzulla, Srinagar.

Dr. Bashir Ahmad Malik, previously in charge of Chief Medical Officer in Baramulla, will now serve as the Medical Superintendent at Kashmir Nursing Home in Gupkar, Srinagar.

Dr. Om Kumar, the Deputy CMO for Doda, will also take on the role of CMO for Doda in addition to his current responsibilities. Similarly, Dr. Rajinder Kumar, in charge of Medical Superintendent at District Hospital Reasi, will assume the duties of CMO for Kishtwar.

Further adjustments include Dr. Nusrat-ul-Nisa, Block Medical Officer for Mandi, taking on the responsibilities of Medical Superintendent at District Hospital Poonch from February 29th, 2024. Dr. Gopal Dutt, Block Medical Officer for Katra, will now serve as the Medical Superintendent for District Hospital Reasi.

Dr. Mohd. Taha Khan, Medical Officer at Provincial Store Srinagar, will handle the duties of BMO for Pattan, while Dr. Mukthar Ahmad Malla, Medical Officer at DH Shopian, will serve as the BMO for Magam.

Additionally, Dr. Opinder Singh, Dental Surgeon at EH Batote, will temporarily take on the role of BMO for Batote until a suitable arrangement is made by the department. Dr. Riyaz Jan, Medical Officer at CHC Mandi, will serve as the BMO for Mandi, and Dr. Rashpal Bangotra, Medical Officer at CHC Sunderbani, will take on the responsibilities of BMO for Katra.

The order emphasizes that these arrangements are temporary and made in the interest of administration and patient care. It also states that these assignments do not confer any preferential treatment for future placement, regularization, or promotion, which will be conducted strictly in accordance with established rules.
