Govt. Appoints A.K Chowdhary As Chairman, J&K Public Service Commission

Jammu, Feb 24 (WD): The Government of Jammu and Kashmir has appointed A.K Chowdhary as Chairman of the Public Service Commission, as per an official announcement on Saturday.

Chowdhary’s appointment will be effective from the date he assumes office until he reaches the age of sixty-two, according to the order issued by the government.

This appointment is made under the powers conferred by Section 93 of the Jammu and Kashmir Re-organization Act, 2019, and S.O. 3937 (E) dated 31st October, 2019, read with Order issued in terms of sub-clause (i) of clause (c) of the Proclamation issued by the President dated 31st October, 2019.

The Lieutenant Governor of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir has authorized the appointment of Mr. A.K. Chowdhary, IPS(AGMUT:1991), as Chairman, Public Service Commission.

Mr. Chowdhary’s tenure as Chairman of the Public Service Commission will continue until he reaches the age of sixty-two, according to the order obtained by wattandaily.com.
