Government official booked for rape in Ramban
Ramban, Feb 25 (WD): A Government official in Ramban, Jammu and Kashmir, has been accused of rape, as reported by the police on Sunday.
The accused, Yawar Amin, currently working as an assistant engineer in Samagra Shiksha Ramban, is reportedly evading arrest.
The complaint was filed by his 18-year-old domestic help at the Banihal Police Station.
According to the victim, the alleged rape occurred while she was alone at Amin’s residence after his wife had departed for Jammu.
The victim stated that after falling sick, Amin administered medication and then proceeded to rape her.
A case, including charges of rape, has been lodged against the accused, with ongoing investigations including the victim’s medical examination.
Additionally, the victim claimed that she was expelled from the residence after informing Amin’s wife about the incident upon her return from Jammu.
Efforts are underway to apprehend the accused, who remains absconding.(WD)
