Good New For Ex-Agniveers,10% Reservation, Age Relaxation in Paramilitary Forces

In a historic decision, ex-Agniveers will receive a 10% reservation, age relaxation, and exemption from the Physical Efficiency Test (PET) in various paramilitary forces. This includes the Border Security Force (BSF), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Railway Protection Force (RPF), Services Selection Board (SSB), and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF).

Director General (DG) CRPF Anish Dayal Singh stated that the CRPF has made arrangements to recruit ex-Agniveers. He highlighted that the first batch will receive an age relaxation of 5 years, a 10% reservation, and exemption from PET.

DG SSB Daljit Singh Chaudhary noted that the decision to recruit ex-Agniveers will provide livelihood opportunities to lakhs of ex-Agniveers and ensure trained manpower for the forces. The SSB has amended its recruitment rules to relax the age limit and PET for ex-Agniveers.

DG RPF Manoj Yadava announced that 10% of constable posts have been reserved for ex-Agniveers in RPF. The force is prepared to welcome ex-Agniveers with age relaxation and exemption from PET. The first batch will receive an age relaxation of 5 years, followed by 3 years for subsequent batches.

CISF Director General Neena Singh stated that the CISF is ready to induct ex-Agniveers into the force. They will receive a 10% reservation, age relaxation, and exemption from PET. The induction of ex-Agniveers will bring disciplined and trained manpower to the force.

BSF DG Nitin Agrawal mentioned that all forces recruiting ex-Agniveers will benefit from their experience. Ex-Agniveers will receive a 10% reservation and age relaxation. The BSF finds ex-Agniveers suitable for the force after 4 years of experience.

The Agnipath scheme, announced in June 2022, aims to create a youthful profile of the Armed Forces. Those recruited under the scheme are called ‘Agniveers.’ The government has assured that various jobs and avenues will be open for youth not retained in the defense forces after four years.

Upon completion of their four-year tenure, about 25% of Agniveers will be retained in the Indian Armed Forces as regular cadres for a minimum of 15 years. The remaining will receive assistance for further employment avenues and a Seva Nidhi Package of Rs 11.71 lakhs, exempted from Income Tax. However, there will be no pensionary benefits.
