Flood Update: Heavy Rainfall in Kashmir Valley, MET Dep issues Advisory

The Kashmir Valley has experienced heavy rainfall, but there’s currently no flood threat. The Jhelum River’s water level is expected to decrease by midnight, with no more rain expected thereafter. As of 6:00 p.m., gauge readings for the Jhelum River show levels at Sangam, Pampore, Asham, and Wulla.

Heavy rainfall has been recorded in all areas of Kashmir over the past 24 to 36 hours, with some parts of the Jammu region also receiving significant rainfall. More rain showers are predicted across Jammu and Kashmir within the next six hours, along with moderate to heavy snowfall in higher elevations.

Weather conditions are expected to improve from 10:00 p.m. tonight, offering some relief from the persistent precipitation.
