Fake NGO booked in J&K, SIT to probe case, Check Details
March 7 ( WD) The Jammu and Kashmir Police Crime Branch has taken action against a deceptive NGO accused of defrauding people with promises of initiating large-scale projects such as hospitals, schools, and hostels within the Union territory.
Following complaints from victims alleging fraud, an FIR was registered at the Crime Branch police station in Jammu. Senior Superintendent of Police, Crime Branch, Benam Tosh, has formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to conduct a thorough probe into the matter.
The accused individuals, including the national president of the NGO ‘Yuva Shakti Jagriti Mission’ and three others, namely Satendra Kumar from Delhi, Bashir Ahmad Jagal from Kupwara, and Sharda Verma along with Satya Prakash Verma from Delhi, have been identified.
The victims claimed that the NGO president and his accomplices absconded after collecting a significant amount of money, leaving behind unfulfilled promises of delivering public projects.
This incident highlights the importance of thorough scrutiny and vigilance while engaging with NGOs and charitable organizations to prevent exploitation and fraudulent activities. The authorities are committed to investigating the case diligently to bring those responsible to justice and prevent similar incidents in the future.
