DSEJ Orders Summer Vacation in All Govt And Private School’s

Srinagar, May 28 (KNO): Amid a prevailing heat wave, the Directorate of School Education Jammu (DSEJ) has announced summer vacation for all government and private schools in the summer zone areas of the region. The vacation period will be from June 01 to July 16.

According to the news agency Wattan Daily, DSEJ issued an order stating, “All the government and recognised private schools falling in the summer zone of Jammu Division shall observe summer vacation from June 01, 2024, to July 16, 2024.”

The directive comes as a relief to students and staff, providing a break during the peak of the summer heat. This decision is aimed at ensuring the well-being of students and teachers who would otherwise be exposed to high temperatures.

The directorate further emphasized that all teachers must remain available for any online guidance required by students during the vacation period. This ensures that students can continue their learning and receive support as needed, despite the break from physical school attendance.

DSEJ also warned that any default on the part of the head of the school or teaching staff in observing the vacation schedule would attract action under the rules. This measure is intended to ensure compliance and maintain educational standards even during the vacation.

Parents and guardians have welcomed the decision, noting that it is a necessary step to protect children from the adverse effects of the heat wave. Many are also appreciative of the continued availability of teachers for online guidance.

School administrations are expected to communicate this vacation schedule to all students and parents promptly. They are also tasked with organizing any necessary online support systems to aid students during the vacation period.

The DSEJ’s announcement underscores its commitment to the health and safety of students and staff while maintaining educational continuity through online support. This balanced approach aims to provide necessary respite during extreme weather conditions while ensuring educational objectives are met.
