Dead Body of 18 Year Old Hafiz E Quran Retrieved from River Jhelum
Tragedy struck in Sumbal, North Kashmir’s Bandipora district, on Saturday when an 18-year-old youth drowned in the river Jhelum.
The incident occurred near the old bridge in Sumbal, where Huzaif Ahmed Shah, son of Hilal Ahmed Shah, a resident of Naniara Sumbal, lost his life.
A rescue operation was launched immediately after the drowning incident, involving locals, police, and the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF).
Despite their best efforts, the rescue team was unable to retrieve the body on Saturday, and the operation was called off in the evening.
The search resumed on Sunday morning, and after strenuous efforts, the body of Huzaif Ahmed Shah was finally retrieved.
The police have taken cognizance of the incident and have started an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the youth’s drowning.
The tragic incident has sent shockwaves through the community, and condolences are pouring in for the family of the deceased.
The retrieval of the body brings closure to the family, and they can now perform the last rites for their loved one.
