Cyber Police J&K Solves Online Financial Fraud of Thousands

June 01: In a significant breakthrough, the J&K Police Cyber Cell Handwara successfully solved an online financial fraud case, demonstrating their expertise and commitment to safeguarding the public from cybercrime.

The case came to light when an online complaint was lodged by a local resident, Irfan Ahmad, son of Ab Qayoom, from Maidan Chogul. Ahmad reported that he had been defrauded of Rs 38,511 through a UPI payment transaction.

Responding swiftly to the complaint, the Cyber Cell Handwara team initiated an investigation. Leveraging advanced technical skills and digital forensics, they managed to trace the transaction and identify the route taken by the defrauded funds.

Thanks to the diligent efforts of the cyber police team, the full amount of Rs 38,511 was successfully recovered. This swift action not only provided relief to the victim but also demonstrated the efficacy of the cyber cell in tackling online financial crimes.
