Central Kashmir murder case, accused arrested within hours ; Police
Ganderbal, May 19 (WD): In a swift response, Ganderbal Police apprehended the accused in the murder of Fayaz Ahmad Dar, a young readymade shop owner from Kacchan Ganderbal, within hours of the crime. The incident, which occurred yesterday, left the local community in shock and mourning.
According to an official statement to Wattan Daily, the brutal murder took place in Kachhan Pirpora village last evening. The tragic event has resonated deeply throughout the area, highlighting the urgency and gravity of the situation.
Sheikh Manzoor Ahmad, the Station House Officer of Ganderbal, provided details of the arrest. He identified the absconding accused as Manzoor Ahmed Wani, the son of Abdul Rashid Wani, who resides in the same locality. The police, utilizing advanced technology and persistent efforts, managed to arrest Wani near his home despite his attempts to evade capture.
The SHO emphasized the diligence of the police team, which was instrumental in locating and apprehending the suspect swiftly. Their efforts ensured that the accused was promptly taken into custody and placed behind bars, ensuring community safety.
The motive behind the murder remains under investigation. When questioned about the cause of the scuffle that led to the tragic event, SHO Sheikh Manzoor Ahmad stated that further inquiries are ongoing to uncover the details and context of the altercation.
The deceased, Fayaz Ahmad Dar, son of Ghulam Hasan Dar, owned a ready-made shop in Kachan Pirpora. He sustained severe injuries in the attack perpetrated by Manzoor Ahmad Wani, who used a sharp knife. Following the attack, Wani fled the scene, prompting an immediate and intensive manhunt by the police.
Despite being rushed to the hospital, Fayaz Ahmad Dar succumbed to his injuries. The fatal stab wound, located near his heart, proved too severe, leading to his untimely death and leaving his family and community in grief.
A criminal case has been registered in connection with the murder under FIR No. 109/2024. The charges include sections 307 (attempt to murder), 452 (house-trespass after preparation for hurt, assault, or wrongful restraint), and 302 (murder) at the Ganderbal police station. The investigation continues as authorities seek to bring justice for Fayaz Ahmad Dar and his family.
