CBI Arrests 3, Including Patwari, for Accepting Bribe Of Thousands in

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested three individuals, including a Patwari, for accepting a bribe of Rs 40,000 in Jammu and Kashmir. A case was registered against a property dealer from Udhampur for demanding a bribe on behalf of a Patwari for issuing a revenue extract of a property.

The CBI laid a trap and caught the property dealer red-handed while accepting the bribe. Further investigation led to the arrest of a middleman and the Patwari. The CBI conducted a relayed-triple-trap operation, catching each accused in the act of accepting the bribe.

The property dealer was caught first, followed by the middleman, and finally the Patwari. The CBI conducted searches at the residential premises of the accused and recovered evidence related to the case.

The three accused will be produced before the Court of Special Judge, Anti-Corruption (CBI Cases), Jammu, today. The investigation is ongoing, and the CBI is working to uncover more details about the corruption ring.

The CBI’s crackdown on corruption in J&K sends a strong message that such practices will not be tolerated, and those involved will be brought to justice. This operation is a step towards ensuring transparency and accountability in government offices.
