Tragedy struck in the Nowshera area of Rajouri district on Sunday afternoon when a young boy lost his life while bathing in the Munnawar Tawi river. The incident occurred when two boys, both aged 15, decided to take a dip in the river to beat the heat. What started as a refreshing swim turned into a harrowing ordeal.

The boys, identified as Amandeep Singh, son of Kamaljeet Singh, and Nakshpreet Singh, son of Kulveer Singh, are both residents of Choki. According to an official report by the Kashmir Scroll, the two boys were enjoying their time in the river when they suddenly found themselves in trouble. Both of them got drowned and were struggling to stay afloat.

Passersby and local residents noticed the boys in distress and rushed to their aid. The community quickly mobilized to rescue the two young boys from the river’s strong currents. After a strenuous effort, they managed to pull both boys out of the water and rushed them to the nearby Sub-District Hospital (SDH) in Nowshera.

Unfortunately, upon arrival at the hospital, doctors declared Amandeep Singh as brought dead. The news of his untimely demise has sent shockwaves through the community, leaving family, friends, and residents in a state of grief and mourning.
