Big Update Regarding Restoration Of Statehood To J&k

Union Minister Hints at Restoring Statehood to J&K Before October

Union Minister Ramdas Athawale has hinted that the Centre may announce the restoration of statehood to Jammu and Kashmir before October this year.

Athawale also suggested that legislative assembly elections may be held in October, along with polls in other states like Maharashtra, Jharkhand, and Chhattisgarh.

The minister appealed to the people to ensure a record-breaking turnout in the elections, stating that the high voter turnout in Lok Sabha elections was a testament to the strengthening of democracy.

Athawale met with Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha in Srinagar and discussed the prevailing peace in the region, despite some untoward incidents.

The minister attributed the peace to the abrogation of Article 370, which has led to a surge in tourism, with over 2.11 crore tourists visiting the region.

Athawale also highlighted the initiatives taken by his ministry, including scholarships for SC and OBC students and plans to start old age homes in each district.

The minister’s party, Republican Party of India, plans to field 10-15 candidates in the Jammu and Kashmir legislative assembly polls.

Athawale’s statements indicate a positive development in the region, with the possibility of statehood restoration and elections on the horizon.
