Big News; J&K PDD launches ‘SmartBS’ app for Electricity Bill usage

The Jammu and Kashmir Power Development Department (JKPDD) takes a significant step towards digitization and improved consumer experience with the introduction of ‘SmartBS’—a website and web app. This platform empowers electricity consumers to effortlessly monitor daily usage, access real-time consumption data, and manage bills online. SmartBS provides hourly updates on electricity units consumed, insightful graphs, visibility of current bill amounts and due dates, and multiple online payment modes.

Consumers can also download historical bill statements, track electricity usage over time, and raise power outage complaints through SmartBS, aiming to enhance billing transparency and minimize errors.

For on-the-go accessibility, web app versions for Android and iOS are introduced. Consumers can log in using their consumer number, gaining seamless access to pertinent data. Future plans include SMS/email alerts for bill generation, payment reminders, and power outage notifications.
