Baramulla Leads as Top Aspirational District in the Country
In the latest assessment under the Aspirational Districts Programme, Baramulla District has emerged as a top performer in the key thematic area of ‘Basic Infrastructure.’ According to the report issued by the National Institution for Transforming India (NITI Aayog) for September 2023, Baramulla’s exemplary performance has earned it an additional funding of Rs. 3 crore from NITI Aayog. This financial support is intended for developmental initiatives within the established thematic areas, including Education, Health and Nutrition, Financial Inclusion and Skill Development, Basic Infrastructure, and Agricultural and Water Resources.
Recognizing this notable accomplishment, Vennecaganti Radha, IAS, Additional Secretary at NITI Aayog, extended congratulations and appreciation to the District Team responsible for the program’s execution and the Central Prabhari Officers for their outstanding performance.
The District Administration of Baramulla expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha, and Chief Secretary Atul Dullo for the steadfast support provided by the Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory administration in achieving this significant milestone.
While applauding the district team for their achievement, the Deputy Commissioner emphasized that this success is a result of the collective efforts of its officers. He expressed confidence that, together, the district can navigate a path toward heightened development.
