ACB Arrests Fair Price Shop Dealer for Demanding Bribe in Kulgam
The J&K Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) has arrested a fair price shop dealer for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 4,000 in Pati Bongam village of Kulgam district.
The dealer, Ajaz Ahmad Malik, was arrested after a complaint was filed against him for demanding a bribe in exchange for releasing ration and KYC.
The complainant alleged that Malik had been denying him his monthly ration and had demanded Rs 7,500 as a bribe.
The complainant arranged Rs 4,000 and approached the ACB for assistance.
A case was registered at ACB Police Station Anantnag, and a trap team was constituted to catch the accused red-handed.
The team caught Malik while he was demanding and accepting the bribe from the complainant.
The money was recovered, and further investigation into the case is ongoing.
The ACB’s swift action has sent a strong message against corruption, and the public is appreciating their efforts to curb such practices.
