AC Transfers 2025 Kanals of Land for Different Industrial Estates in JK

Srinagar, June 8 (WD): The Administrative Council (AC) chaired by Shri Manoj Sinha, Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of J&K, has approved the transfer of 2025 kanals and 03 marlas of land for the development of industrial estates in the districts of Budgam, Anantnag, Shopian, and Reasi.

The meeting was attended by Rajeev Rai Bhatnagar, Advisor to the Lieutenant Governor; Atal Dulloo, Chief Secretary; and Mandeep Kumar Bhandari, Principal Secretary to the Lieutenant Governor. This decision is expected to significantly enhance the industrial infrastructure in these regions.

In Budgam district, the land transferred includes 55 kanals in village Watalpora and 85 kanals 5 marlas in B.K. Pora. Anantnag district saw the transfer of 633 kanals 5 marlas in Brah Tehsil Shangus, 119 kanals in Hassan Noor, Pahalgam, 101 kanals 2 marlas in VeeriBijbehara, 100 kanals in Nanil Aung, and 223 kanals 5 marlas in Ranbirpora, East Mattan.

For Shopian district, the land transferred includes 55 kanals 13 marlas in Berthipora Keller and 152 kanals in MelhuraZainpora. In Reasi district, 500 kanals 13 marlas were transferred in village Nambal. These areas are expected to benefit greatly from the establishment of industrial estates.

The development of these industrial estates is anticipated to play a crucial role in the overall development of these areas. The initiative is expected to create various employment opportunities, benefitting the public and the government alike.

The project is expected to attract an investment of Rs. 3167 crores in these industrial estates, with an estimated employment generation for 31,990 persons. This is a significant move towards boosting the local economy and providing job opportunities.

Additionally, the Administrative Council has approved the utilization of un-allottable land patches, each with an area of up to 200 kanals, at the Industrial Estate in Bhagthali, Kathua. This is in line with the J&K Industrial Land Allotment Policy, 2021-30, aimed at optimizing the use of limited land resources.

Previously, the Industrial Estate at Bhagthali, Kathua was reserved for large investment projects requiring land exceeding 200 kanals, as per Administrative Council decision No. 49/3/2022 dated 15.03.2022. These projects are cleared by the Apex Level Land Allotment Committee (ALLAC) under the J&K Industrial Land Allotment Policy, 2021-30.

However, there remained some un-utilized land patches of less than 200 kanals. The Industries & Commerce Department brought this matter before the Administrative Council, resulting in the approval to alter the previous decision to allow for the allotment of these smaller land patches. This ensures the optimal use of available land resources.
