65 Drugs, 38 Diagnostics Now Free at Health Centres: J&K Govt, Download List

The Health and Medical Education Department in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, has issued a notification outlining a range of drugs and diagnostics that will be provided free of charge at health and wellness centers throughout the Union Territory.

With immediate effect, a total of 65 drugs and 38 diagnostics will be accessible without cost at Primary Health Centers and Sub-Centers across Jammu and Kashmir, as per the directive.

The National Health Mission (NHM) of J&K had previously proposed an expansion of the available drugs and diagnostics at Health & Wellness Centers and recommended the formation of a committee to assess and suggest the list.

Consequently, a committee was established to finalize the selection of free drugs and diagnostics to be offered at Health and Wellness Centers, aligning with the guidelines of the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India.

The official order emphasizes that the list of free drugs and diagnostics has been formally approved based on the committee’s recommendations and will soon be accessible at Primary Health Centers and Sub-Centers across Jammu and Kashmir.

This initiative aims to enhance healthcare accessibility and affordability for residents of Jammu and Kashmir, ensuring that essential medications and diagnostic services are readily available at designated health facilities.

By implementing this comprehensive list of free drugs and diagnostics, the government of Jammu and Kashmir strives to improve healthcare delivery and address the healthcare needs of its population effectively.
