5 Army Soldiers, SPO Injured After Nocturnal Gunfight in Doda: Police
Jammu, June 12 – In a nocturnal gunfight that erupted in the Chattargala area of Doda district, five Army soldiers and a Special Police Officer (SPO) sustained injuries, according to police sources.
The encounter began around 1:45 am when a joint team of the Army and police, conducting a Naka (checkpoint) operation, engaged with militants. The confrontation led to an exchange of gunfire, resulting in injuries to the security personnel.
Officials reported that the injured soldiers and the SPO were quickly evacuated from the scene and transported to the Sub-District Hospital (SDH) in Bhaderwah for immediate medical treatment. The nature of their injuries has not been disclosed, but all were due to bullet wounds.
Currently, there has been no further exchange of gunfire in the area, but security forces have intensified search operations to locate and neutralize the militants involved in the initial skirmish.
