43 Soldiers Killed in Jammu in Less Than 3 Years

Since October 2021, 43 brave soldiers have sacrificed their lives in various terror attacks and encounters in the Jammu region.

The first incident occurred on October 11, 2021, in Chamrer forests, where five Army soldiers lost their lives in a gun battle with terrorists.

Five more soldiers were martyred in a terror attack at Pargal in Darhal area of Rajouri on August 11, 2022.

On April 20, 2023, five Army soldiers were killed in an encounter at Bhatta Durrian in Mendhar area of Poonch.

Exactly a fortnight later, five para commandos lost their lives in an IED blast triggered by terrorists at Kandi in Rajouri district.

On November 22, 2023, five Army personnel, including two Captains, attained martyrdom while eliminating two foreign terrorists at Bajimaal in Dharamshal area of Kalakote in Rajouri.

The list of martyrs also includes a VDG jawan killed at Basantgarh in Udhampur district on April 28, 2024, an IAF soldier who lost his life on May 4, 2024, at Surankote in Poonch, and a CRPF jawan who sacrificed his life at Hiranagar in Kathua on June 11, 2024.

In the latest incident, four Army jawans were martyred at Machedi in Billawar area of Kathua district, bringing the total number of soldiers killed in Jammu in less than three years to 43.
