Woman Murdered by Husband, Paramour After Watching ‘Drishyam’ for Cover-Up in

A 28-year-old woman was allegedly killed by her estranged husband and paramour in Chhattisgarh’s Kabirdham district.

The duo buried the body in a forest, and their plan was inspired by the Bollywood movie ‘Drishyam’, which they watched to learn how to hide the body and evade arrest.

The incident took place on July 19, and the police arrested the two accused, Lukesh Sahu and Raja Ram Sahu, on Sunday.

The woman’s husband had left her three years ago on suspicion of infidelity, and she was in a relationship with Raja Ram.

The accused were motivated by a desire to get rid of the woman, with Lukesh claiming he was debt-ridden from paying monthly maintenance to her, and Raja Ram fed up with her demands for money.

The police investigation revealed that the duo planned the murder for a month, watching ‘Drishyam’ to learn how to commit the crime and evade arrest.

The woman was strangled with her saree and buried in a forest, with the accused attempting to cover their tracks by hiding her belongings and disposing of evidence.

The police have recovered the victim’s body and arrested the accused, with further investigation ongoing.
