Transporters End Strike after assurance from GOI. New Law concerning Transporters put on hold

- Representatives from the All India Motor Transport Congress recently engaged in discussions with government officials regarding the proposed Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita 106/2, aimed at addressing the recent nationwide transport strike.
- Union Home Secretary Ajay Bhalla assured the media that the new rule has not been implemented yet, highlighting a collaborative approach between the government and transporters, with a mutual desire for thorough consultations before making any decisions.
- Bhalla emphasized that decisions regarding Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita 106/2 will only be made after discussions with All India Motor Transport Congress representatives, showcasing a commitment to a consultative process.
- As a result of these discussions, both the government and transporters have reached a consensus, urging transport workers, particularly truck drivers, to promptly resume their duties in the interest of resolving concerns and maintaining smooth operations.
