In a recent development, the Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC) of the Mumbai police successfully seized charas valued at Rs 1.04 crore and apprehended three individuals, including a resident from Jammu and Kashmir. The arrested individuals were identified as part of an inter-state drug trafficking network. The ANC’s Bandra unit conducted a targeted operation in the Byculla area, resulting in the capture of two suspects and the confiscation of 1.8 kg of high-quality Kashmiri charas. Subsequent interrogations led to the apprehension of another individual, in possession of an additional 800 grams of Kashmiri charas, who had concealed the substance in walnut bags during transit to Mumbai.
The Kashmiri resident involved in the smuggling had ingeniously transported the illicit substance, utilizing walnut bags to conceal it. Notably, one of the accused had prior involvement in two cases registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, with 55 kg of charas seized from him in a previous incident in the Worli area.
