Jhelum Stadium Janbazpora to be renamed as ‘General Bipin Rawat Stadium’

The Jammu and Kashmir government, on Friday, approved the renaming of Jhelum Stadium in Janbazpora, situated in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district, to “General Bipin Rawat Stadium” in tribute to the former Chief of Defence Staff.

As per the order obtained by Daily Wattan, the Youth Services and Sports Department, along with the Deputy Commissioner of Baramulla, has been instructed to promptly undertake necessary measures, including updating records to reflect the change.

The order further mandates the Divisional Commissioner of Kashmir to ensure the organization of an appropriate event in connection with the renaming of the stadium.
