UPSC Announces Result,147 candidates qualify Indian Forest Service Examination
In a recent announcement by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), it was revealed that 147 candidates have successfully qualified for the Indian Forest Service examination of 2023. These candidates come from diverse backgrounds, with 43 from the General category, 20 from the Economically Weaker Section (EWS), 51 from Other Backward Class (OBC), 22 from Scheduled Castes (SCs), and 11 from Scheduled Tribes (STs).
The examination, conducted from November 26 to December 3, 2023, assessed candidates’ knowledge and skills in various aspects related to forest service. Following this, interviews for the personality test were held from April 22 to May 1, 2024. Ritvika Pandey emerged as the topper of the examination, with Kale Pratiksha Nanasaheb and Swastic Yaduvanshi securing the second and third ranks, respectively.
Out of the 150 vacancies reported by the Centre, 147 candidates have been recommended for appointment to the posts in the Indian Forest Service. However, the candidature of 51 recommended candidates is provisional, as stated by the Commission. Roll numbers of these candidates have been shared for reference.
For candidates seeking further information or clarification, the UPSC has established a ‘facilitation counter’ near the examination hall building on its campus. Additionally, candidates can contact the Commission during working hours for assistance. The result, along with candidates’ marks, will be available on the Commission’s website within 15 days from the date of result declaration.
This announcement underscores the rigorous selection process undertaken by the UPSC for the Indian Forest Service, ensuring that qualified individuals are appointed to contribute effectively to forest management and conservation efforts in the country.
