Big Update Regarding Paper Leakage Reported in UPSC, SSC Exams
The government has announced that there have been no reported cases of paper leakage in recruitment examinations conducted by UPSC, SSC, RRB, and IBPS over the last two years.
This information was shared with the Rajya Sabha on Thursday, providing reassurance to exam aspirants about the integrity of these competitive exams.
However, the National Testing Agency (NTA) did report some irregularities during the recent NEET (UG) examination held on May 5, 2024.
These irregularities included alleged cheating, impersonation, and malpractices, which were reported in the OMR (Pen and paper) mode exam.
Following a review, the matter was referred to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for a comprehensive investigation on June 22, 2024.
Union Minister of State for Personnel Jitendra Singh confirmed in a written reply that there have been no incidents of paper leakage in UPSC, SSC, RRB, and IBPS exams over the last two years.
To further prevent unfair means in public examinations, the government has enacted the Public Examination (Prevention of Unfair means) Act, 2024.
This new law aims to ensure the integrity of competitive exams and has been brought into force, with rules under this law also notified.
