NTA Releases NEET UG 2025 Results for 20.8 Lakh Aspirants

NEET UG 2025 Result Declared for Over 20.8 Lakh Aspirants on neet.nta.nic.in

June 14, 2025 — The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially announced the results of the NEET UG 2025 examination. This year’s NEET UG was one of the most competitive and widely participated exams in India, with more than 22.7 lakh registrations and around 20.8 lakh students actually appearing for the test. The results have been released on the official website, neet.nta.nic.in, where students can now access their individual scorecards.

The NEET UG exam was conducted on May 4, 2025, in a single shift across thousands of exam centres in India and a few abroad. The exam serves as the primary gateway for admission into undergraduate medical courses such as MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BSMS, BHMS, and BUMS in both government and private institutions across the country. The exam, as always, tested students in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, and the total marks were 720.

After the exam, NTA had released a provisional answer key to allow students to raise objections. Following expert review and analysis of these objections, the final answer key was released earlier today, correcting a few discrepancies and even accepting more than one correct option in some questions. This finalized version was used to evaluate candidates’ responses and calculate their final scores.

The scorecard issued today includes essential details like the candidate’s total marks, subject-wise scores, percentile score, All India Rank (AIR), and qualifying status. Students can log in to the NTA NEET website using their application number, date of birth, and the security pin to access their result. The portal may experience heavy traffic due to the massive number of aspirants, so students are advised to be patient and try again in case of delays or errors.

The NEET UG 2025 cut-off marks have also been released along with the result. For candidates in the unreserved (General) category, the qualifying score lies between 686 and 144. For reserved categories like SC, ST, and OBC, the cut-off range is comparatively lower, offering a wider scope for candidates from these backgrounds to qualify. The cut-off has been determined based on the difficulty level of the paper, the number of students, and the overall performance.

With the results now available, attention shifts to the next crucial phase — the medical counselling process. All India Quota counselling for 15 percent of the government medical seats will be conducted by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), while the remaining 85 percent of state quota seats will be handled by respective state authorities. Additionally, private medical colleges and deemed universities will conduct their own counselling based on NEET UG ranks.

The counselling process will involve online registration, choice filling, seat allotment, document verification, and final admission to allocated institutions. Aspirants are strongly advised to stay updated through the MCC and state health department websites to ensure they don’t miss any deadlines or announcements. It’s also important to note that failure to attend counselling within the given time frame can result in the cancellation of a candidate’s eligibility for that round.

As per official statements, the result is final and binding, and no revaluation or rechecking requests will be entertained. However, if any technical issues or discrepancies are found in the scorecard, candidates can contact NTA’s official helpdesk or write to them through the grievance redressal portal available on their website.

The declaration of NEET UG 2025 results marks a significant step forward for lakhs of students who dream of becoming future doctors. With the result now in hand, candidates are advised to prepare themselves for the next stage and gather the necessary documents for verification. The pressure might be high, but this moment is also a major milestone that reflects years of hard work and determination.
