Kashmir Government Colleges Embrace Online Classes Amid Winter Challenges
In light of challenging winter conditions, the Government of Jammu and Kashmir Higher Education Department takes proactive measures to address hurdles faced by students attending Government Degree Colleges in Kashmir Division.
Online Shift to Counter Winter Challenges
To overcome disruptions caused by harsh weather and ensure the continuity of academic activities, the Government directs all Principals of Government Degree Colleges in Kashmir to transition to online classes. This measure is effective from December 1, 2023, until December 31, 2023, or until the announcement of winter vacations, whichever occurs first.
Addressing Commuting Challenges
The decision is prompted by the difficulties faced by students who encounter obstacles in commuting due to severe weather conditions. This shift aims to provide a conducive learning environment for students who travel long distances or face accommodation challenges.
Faculty Commitment to Online Instruction
Faculty members are instructed to attend their respective colleges regularly and conduct online classes from the college premises. This commitment ensures the fulfillment of academic requirements and adheres to the prescribed academic calendar.
Examinations Proceed as Scheduled
Despite the transition to online learning, all internal and semester-end examinations will continue as per the scheduled timelines set by universities and institutions.
Ensuring Uninterrupted Academic Progress
The move towards online classes reflects the government’s commitment to the uninterrupted academic progress of students, even in the face of challenging winter conditions. This proactive step aligns with the larger goal of providing quality education to students in the region.
